Introduction to the WHO Labour Care Guide
| Name | World Continuing Education Alliance |
| Activity Title | Introduction to the WHO Labour Care Guide |
| Details | Description
WHO launched the Intrapartum Care recommendations in 2018 with a set of evidence based interventions for provision of essential intrapartum care for all women. This has necessitated the development of a new labour monitoring tool for use in documenting the application of these interventions during labour and delivery. This course provides an orientation on the WHO Labour Care Guide: (‘WHO next generation partograph’) launched in December 2020. This tool replaces the partograph and facilitates documentation of essential intrapartum interventions to facilitate implementation of essential good-quality and evidence-based clinical care in all settings. It further expands the focus of labour monitoring to include non-clinical practices that promote a positive childbirth experience for every woman and baby.
This course is recommended for all health workers involved in the provision of labour and delivery / childbirth care.
