| Details | This module explores the diagnosis and management of facial space infections, a potentially life-threatening condition most commonly arising from odontogenic sources. It covers the anatomy of the fascial spaces of the head and neck, clinical recognition of spreading infection, principles of airway protection, surgical drainage, and antibiotic therapy. Emphasis is placed on early identification of complications including Ludwig's angina, descending necrotising mediastinitis, and sepsis, with practical guidance for inter-specialty collaboration and escalation.
