Core topics covered • Basic emergency triage and rapid assessment (ABCs: airway, breathing, circulation) • Initial management of common emergencies: shock, severe bleeding, acute respiratory distress, seizures, obstetric emergencies (postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia), anaphylaxis • Basic life support (adult and pediatric): chest compressions, airway positioning, rescue breaths • Stabilization and referral criteria: safe transfer, use of referral forms, ambulance coordination • Emergency obstetric care and newborn resuscitation (Helping Babies Breathe principles) • Management of trauma at primary care level: hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal precautions • Recognition and initial management of sepsis and diabetic emergencies • Infection prevention and safe handling of sharps during emergencies • Triage systems adapted for HCIII settings and record-keeping for emergency cases • Communication and teamwork in emergency response, including handover and documentation
