The training materials included in this toolkit will help clinicians learn about and provide CAB-LA as an HIV prevention option for their clients.
Objectives: On completion of this course, learners will:
• Understand essential information and considerations for offering CAB-LA for PrEP, including evidence CAB-LA prevents HIV, eligibility/contraindications assessment, and ongoing clinical management
• Understand CAB-LA administration and IM injection technique
- Understand scheduling of follow-up visits, visit components, and management of injection scheduling irregularities
• Understand counseling considerations for CAB-LA, and be familiar with job aids and resources to support counseling on PrEP method choice
• Understand the various considerations for CAB-LA in pregnant and/or breastfeeding clients, including for pregnancy testing and contraception
