Details | Introduction to CME on Alert Surveillance in Sudan Virus Disease (SVD)
Sudan Virus Disease (SVD) is a severe and often fatal viral hemorrhagic fever caused by the Sudan virus, a member of the Filoviridae family. Early detection and rapid response are crucial in controlling outbreaks and preventing widespread transmission.
This Continuing Medical Education (CME) session will focus on alert surveillance as a key strategy in SVD outbreak management. We will discuss the importance of timely case detection, early warning systems, community-based surveillance, and data-driven outbreak response. Additionally, we will explore the role of frontline healthcare workers in identifying and reporting suspected cases, as well as best practices for integrating alert surveillance into national health systems. Strengthening surveillance mechanisms is essential for mitigating the impact of SVD and improving public health preparedness.
