DetailsThe group convenes weekly to discuss targeted interventions for the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality, sharing best practices in implementing Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR). The meeting offers technical input on emerging processes and issues in safe motherhood. Periodically, the session provides insights into quality improvement interventions, such as MPDSR, Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric-Newborn Care (EmONC), and Postnatal Care (PC). During this session, our focus was on reviewing progressive updates on the actions proposed during the review of maternal deaths reported at Iganga, Ibanda, and Bududa General, as a strategy to prevent similar cases. This was followed by a status update report on efforts to improve maternal and newborn healthcare in Kisoro District. This report also provided an opportunity for the team to discuss current challenges and plan for the future. THE MEETING HAPPENED ON 28TH SEPTEMBER 2023 AT 7.30AM
