Details	The group convened weekly (January – April 2025) to review and discuss targeted interventions addressing the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality. These sessions served as a platform for sharing best practices in the implementation of Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) and provided technical guidance on emerging issues in safe motherhood. Key areas of focus included quality improvement interventions such as MPDSR, Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC), and Postnatal Care (PNC). The group critically reviewed updates on actions proposed during the review of maternal deaths reported from lower-level health facilities. Learning was enriched through documented good practices from districts such as Kamuli (on ambulance coordination), Rubanda (on supportive supervision), and thematic discussions on preconception care, quality antenatal care (ANC), high-risk pregnancy management, respectful maternity and intrapartum care, and the use of the Birth Asphyxia Bundle. Additionally, the meetings promoted the use of the Routine Client Satisfaction Feedback Initiative to inform and drive improvements in the quality of care.
