| Name | HAMURWA HC IV |
| Activity Title | Patient rights and responsibilities |
| Details | This CPD session focused on strengthening my understanding of patient rights and responsibilities within the context of service delivery at Hamurwa HCIV. The training highlighted the key principles that guide patient-centred care, including the right to respectful treatment, privacy and confidentiality, timely access to healthcare, clear communication, and the right to give informed consent for all procedures. We also reviewed the facility’s obligations in promoting safety, non-discrimination, and ethical standards in patient care.
Additionally, the session emphasized the responsibilities of patients when seeking care at Hamurwa HCIV, such as providing accurate medical information, adhering to treatment instructions, respecting healthcare providers, safeguarding facility property, and using services appropriately.
Through reflection, I identified opportunities to improve my own practice by enhancing communication with patients, ensuring they clearly understand their treatment plans, and consistently upholding confidentiality and dignity. This CPD activity strengthened my ability to advocate for patient rights and support a more collaborative, respectful, and safe care environment within Hamurwa HCIV. |
