| Details | A CPD session on Nutrition Assessment was conducted at Mpungu HCIII to enhance the capacity of health workers in identifying and managing malnutrition among children and other vulnerable groups. The session covered key aspects of nutrition assessment, including anthropometric measurements (weight, height/length, MUAC), clinical signs of malnutrition, and use of growth monitoring charts and nutrition assessment tools. Participants also reviewed the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) guidelines and discussed referral pathways for moderate and severe acute malnutrition.
Practical demonstrations were carried out on accurate measurement techniques and proper interpretation of nutrition indicators such as weight-for-age, height-for-age, and weight-for-height.
