Details | This session continues to look at respiratory mechanics. Lung compliance and the role of surfactant are discussed as are the factors determining whether airflow is laminar or turbulent. Respiratory function tests will also be explained.

• Explain Laplace’s law and understand the role of surfactant
• Recognize the factors affecting airflow through the lung
• Interpret the results of lung function tests in obstructive and restrictive disease |
